Appointment and Commissioning
To become a notary in Mississippi, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a citizen or a permanent legal resident of the United States.
Have been a legal resident for more than thirty days in the State of Mississippi.
Be able to read and write the English language.
Have never been convicted of a disqualifying felony and must not be presently incarcerated or on parole.
Reside at the physical residential address provided on the notary application.
